Sturdy Savings Bank employees are committed to neighborhood service. You will find us where it matters most: your schools, recreation centers, non-profit organizations and churches. We are at chamber of commerce meetings, concerts, historical preservation events and veterans’ fundraisers. These pictures tell our story. Throughout nearly a century of growth, from a small savings and loan association to a full-service bank with 13 branch locations, Sturdy Savings Bank has always understood that there is no place like “home.”
Sturdy Savings Bank is also committed to financial education and offers several free, customized community programs. The Bank’s experienced staff is available to assist your school or community group with classes on budgeting, saving, credit, and more. Run Wild 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk Donation
Sturdy Savings Bank was honored to present donation checks to the Cape May County Park and Zoo and The Branches Outreach of Rio Grande. The donations were raised during our annual Run Wild 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk!
Wetlands Institute Donation and Kindergarten Turtle Release
As part of a special partnership with The Wetlands Institute, the Stone Harbor Elementary School kindergarten class learned about local wildlife by helping care for orphaned baby diamondback terrapins. After weeks of hands-on education, the children release the turtles into their natural habitat with guidance from the Institute.
In addition to raising the turtles, students also collect funds in support of the Institute’s vital conservation work through a cookie sales fundraiser. Sturdy Savings Bank is honored to support this meaningful effort by matching the funds raised by the class, doubling the impact of this important initiative.

Burke Motor Group Car, Truck & Cycle Show Donation
Sturdy Savings Bank is proud to be the Title Sponsor of the Burke Motor Group Car, Truck & Cycle Show benefiting the Cape May Coast Guard Community Foundation!
The Cape May County Coast Guard Community Foundation supports service members of the United States Coast Guard who are stationed throughout South Jersey by hosting and promoting support programs and family-friendly activities throughout the year.
“Warm Wishes” Clothing Collection Drive
Sturdy Savings Bank hosted a bank-wide clothing collection drive called “Warm Wishes” where approximately 200 warm winter items, including hats, gloves, mittens, scarves, and socks, were donated by employees for the homeless. The donations were delivered, along with a monetary contribution, to the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and The Branches Outreach in Rio Grande.
Middle Township After Prom & Naval Cadet Program
Sturdy Savings Bank was thrilled to support Middle Township High School’s Naval Cadet Program and After Prom event.
After Prom offers a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment for students to enjoy after the prom concludes.
